Setup Steps

Step 1

Insert SIM Card

Insert an active SIM card with mobile data into the GPS tracker

  • Use a nano/micro SIM based on your device model
  • Ensure the SIM has active mobile data plan
  • No PIN lock should be set on the SIM
  • APN should be set to "internet" or carrier default
Step 2

Power On Device

Turn on the GPS tracker and wait for network connection

  • LED should start blinking (indicates power)
  • Wait 2-3 minutes for GPS signal lock
  • Device should connect to mobile network
  • Check that GPS LED is solid (not blinking)
Step 3

Configure Server Connection

Send SMS commands to configure the tracker

  • Send: adminip 123456 api.comillalive.com 5023
  • Wait for confirmation SMS from tracker
  • Send: apn 123456 internet
  • Verify settings with: check 123456
Step 4

Set Update Intervals

Configure how often tracker sends location data

  • Send: timer 123456 30 (reports every 30 sec)
  • Send: upload 123456 30 (GPS update interval)
  • Lower interval = more battery consumption
  • Recommended: 30-60 seconds for vehicles
Step 5

Verify Connection

Ensure tracker is sending data to our server

  • Check GPS Tracker Management page
  • Device should show "Online" status
  • Last update time should be recent
  • Location should appear on map

SMS Commands Reference

Important Notes:

  • • Default password is usually 123456
  • • Send SMS from any phone to the SIM number in the tracker
  • • Wait for confirmation SMS after each command
  • • Commands are case-sensitive (use lowercase)

Troubleshooting

Tracker Not Connecting

  • 1.Check SIM card has active data plan
  • 2.Verify APN settings are correct
  • 3.Restart tracker with: reset 123456
  • 4.Check signal strength in your area

No GPS Signal

  • 1.Move device to open area (away from buildings)
  • 2.Wait 5-10 minutes for GPS lock
  • 3.Check GPS antenna is connected
  • 4.Restart device and wait

Data Not Updating

  • 1.Check timer settings: check 123456
  • 2.Verify server IP: check 123456
  • 3.Ensure GPRS is enabled: gprs 123456
  • 4.Check SIM data balance

Change Default Password

password 123456 newpassword

Replace "newpassword" with your desired password (6-12 characters)

Set Speed Alert (100 km/h)

Tracker will send alert when speed exceeds limit

Set Authorized Phone Number

admin 123456 01XXXXXXXXX

Only this number can send configuration SMS

Set Time Zone (GMT+6 Bangladesh)

timezone 123456 E 6

E = East, 6 = GMT+6 hours

Testing & Verification

    Send Test SMS

    Send check 123456 to verify settings

  2. 2

    Verify GPS Lock

    Check GPS LED is solid (not blinking). Wait 5-10 minutes if outdoors

  3. 3

    Check Server Connection

    Go to GPS Tracker Management page and verify "Online" status

  4. 4

    Test Live Tracking

    Open customer app and verify location updates in real-time
